About the Channel Statistics

What it does

Every public YouTube channel exposes a set of statistics through the YouTube Data API โ€” subscriber count, total video uploads, cumulative view count, country, and join date. This tool surfaces all of them in a clean dashboard from any channel identifier: @handle, full URL, or raw UCโ€ฆ channel ID.

Who uses it, and why

Creators use channel stats to benchmark against competitors, track their own growth milestones, or evaluate potential collaboration partners. Sponsors and agencies use them for quick due diligence before outreach โ€” especially average views per video, which is more revealing than raw subscriber count when evaluating actual reach.

How it works

YouTube hides subscriber counts below 1,000 and rounds larger numbers, so the figures are YouTube's public-facing numbers โ€” accurate to YouTube's own rounding rules, not exact internal figures.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the subscriber count look rounded?

YouTube rounds subscriber counts for public display: channels under 1,000 show no count, channels 1,000โ€“999,999 are rounded to three significant figures, and larger counts are expressed in thousands or millions. The exact internal count is only visible to the channel owner in YouTube Studio.

Can I see subscriber count for any channel?

For most channels, yes. Some creators choose to hide their subscriber count in YouTube Studio settings โ€” those channels show '0' from the API even if they have subscribers, because YouTube doesn't expose it publicly.

How is average views per video calculated?

Total view count รท total video count. This includes all public videos in the channel's lifetime, so a channel with one ancient viral video may have a high average despite recent underperformance.

Is there a delay in the stats?

The tool fetches from YouTube's Data API, which is updated frequently but may lag real-time by up to several hours. For your own channel, YouTube Studio shows real-time data.
